The Embers Adrift team is looking back, and planning ahead for the game’s upcoming second anniversary. Stormhaven Studios is planning a celebration starting October 11th and has been sharing some info and perspectives ahead of those plans.
Coming off of another successful summer celebration, this month, the team reflected on everything they have done since the game launched (aside from fixes and minor updates). The independent MMORPG launched as a subscription-based game without microtransactions initially, but since has gone buy to play, with optional subscription, and even added a free trial account option. This lets the curious get a taste of what the game is like with access to zones, and even a dungeon.
The team has been responsive, and they've worked on a lot of issues that they got feedback on. Initially, one of the big launch complaints extended to things like hair and features on characters. They worked to address those as well as continue development to add new content and continue offering things to do.
All hail Blupiter! Lord of the North! Did you know the blue planet in our sky is actually named the Eye of Ibax? It always points north. Embers Adrift is chalk full of lore. Come check out Embers Adrift Oct. 11thHere is today's player testimony! See you in game! #MMO #RPG pic.twitter.com/vMfcwDH1OV

While designed and intended to be group-oriented, they have also added more options that offer solo players progression paths and simply, things to do. Solo loop Ember Veins and even bulletin board tasks are some solo-friendly content additions, added while the team also adds more group content too. There is an extensive list of content and features that have been added over the past two years, including five zones, six dungeons, nine Ember Veins, and the introduction of the Alchemy system.
There's a lot more in the full recap, and it's a good place to start if you want to get a feeling about the game and team.
As for the October 11th anniversary celebration, Stormhaven has been sharing player comments on social, teasing the events to come, but with tomorrow being the start of October, we’ll know more soon.
