Embers Adrift Confirms Late April Soft Launch on Steam and May Plans

The journey to Steam for Embers Adrift is almost complete, and Stormhaven Studios shared an update on their planned soft launch and beyond.

As of now, we should be seeing Embers Adrift soft launching on Steam at the end of this month. This soft launch will give them time to get things rolling and to work out any bugs that might surface. 

“We are planning to do a soft launch at the end of this month with a big content patch at the end of May to coincide with the promotion of Embers Adrift REKINDLED. We hope everything goes according to this plan,” they announced on Discord. They’re “excited that as your tried and true underdog indie dev team here at Stormhaven Studios this is yet one more hurdle we've been able to jump”.

The team has spent the past nine months working to change things over, working without a steady revenue stream, since their former payments processor, Digital River, stifled them on owed payments. Since then, the game has been temporarily 100% free to play with full membership perks for all since they couldn’t take payments.

In their announcement, they recapped changes to improve the game during this transition and ongoing work on the 50+ zone Grizzled Peaks II we should hear more about soon.
