The  Embers Adrift team is sharing the latest state of the game, along with this week's new content, including quests, map features, and the mail system.

With Stormhaven Studios being a small team, they’ve been working to let more players try Embers Adrift out and talking about the work they've done in the free to play trial.

Recently, the team considered a change in their progression curve but they ultimately decided against it due to community feedback.  So now we’re back to the promised features they have confirmed, like the mail system and new content. This week’s update adds five new quests to take on, and this is the first wave they’re adding after work on the bulletin board and mail systems diverted the team’s attention in an effort to get those in and ready.

The mail system is finally here after being confirmed a while back. Now, this allows easier player to player trade because you can attach an item to mail and send it either as a gift or with a cash on delivery feature that someone will have to pay before they can claim the item.  There is a fee to send items through the mail, but the mail system is here and should open up a few extra opportunities.

This week's update has also added a few new map features, including the ability to look at any region you've discovered, as well as a higher level world map. you can also look at regions you've discovered by clicking on a label or by using a drop-down.  You can also travel more easily if you are standing near an Ember Monolith by clicking to another one in the world.

This leads to what the team is calling another iteration of the Ember transport feature: Travel Essence (TE) is an answer to the problem of acquiring Ember Essence, particularly in lower-level areas. What TE does is it doubles the capacity of everyone's Ember Stone with extra capacity you can only use for TE. So, essentially, you get to bank some of it for travel, and fill up the rest normally for abilities.
