Ember Sword has brought its servers down in order to implement future updates after a successful first beta playtest.

The beta started early July “with the goal of testing both the game and our infrastructure,” as an accompanying blog earlier this week shared. While EU servers stayed open, all have since gone down as of August 23 in order for the team to implement future fixes coming in a few weeks, but the game will come back up later this year.

A list of upcoming features includes, but isn’t limited to, a new weapon, new areas, easier navigation mangle integration, cosmetics merging, new features including Friends Lists, and making The Capital a safe zone thanks to the defeat of Canavar.

The blog explains that during the beta, thousands of players joined, but they have still dodged exact numbers. However, they gladly have other metrics, as shared before—100 thousand play sessions, 41 thousand hours played, 80 thousand Discord members, and 800 thousand social media impressions with 20 thousand new followers.

They also say that “loads of $EMBER,” their blockchain token, and land plots, which are also run on the blockchain, were given away throughout, while players fought to collect hundreds of collectibles.
