The Ember Sword team is revealing more details about The Ultra Deep on the road to the next alpha test. The team has introduced the dungeon bosses, details on armor and weapons, and an updated roadmap to the playtest.

Bright Star has a timer on the game's homepage with a countdown to the alpha test, which begins in just over 10 days. Recently, they've updated the site to include info on weapons and armor. Since Ember Sword is a sandbox  that does not have traditional class roles, you get to choose your playstyle and pick your gear to suit how you want to play.

As far as armor goes, You'll choose between light, medium, and heavy armor, with each having different pros and cons and suitability with the available weapons. In terms of weapons, the team lists Censer for the support player. Turn to this weapon when you want to buff and heal your allies and debuff and damage your enemies. Pistols are there if you love to play a mobile, ranged character. Staff is there for burst damage and inflicting powerful effects. Finally, a traditional sword and shield setup is available for those who want to be tanky and set the pace.

The official roadmap that will lead us to the playtest included the reveal of the Ultra Deep bosses. The first, Canavar, is a tortoise who is large and has an almost impenetrable shell due to chemical experimentation. You cannot use crowd control on this boss, so you'll have to find another way. Because of that whole imprisonment and experimentation, he’s full of rage.

The final boss is Shauk. A sentient metallic giant of a creature, he too was altered by toxic chemicals. He seems to be the reason the Ultra Deep is so locked down. Face him and his plasma gun down to emerge victorious.

The team promises more info on the way, including a new Q&A from the game director, and more.

See more over at Ember Sword.
