Ember Sword is talking the Censer weapon. Perhaps a bit underestimated, the weapon can help you play an effective support role, but you can do some real damage too.
The latest work in progress preview shared on Discord, the developers look into this weapon that testers were able to try out in the recent test that opened up a dungeon, The Ultra Deep, for the first time. They note that interest in this weapon has grown, especially after playtests, and this is encouraging.
The Censer is a versatile weapon, where you can use it to help heal your party members or to help them to succeed. The original abilities for the weapon were Curse, which deals damage and applies a debuff, Punishment, which lets you hit every enemy before you and slow them, Bless, which lets you heal those within a target area, and Holy Shield, Which is a shield that protects your party from attacks.
For the Ultra Deep playtest, the game director wanted to make sure that the Censer was also refreshed, to match community interest that made it a community “weapon of choice”. so they added a few abilities to this weapon along with the others. Judgment sees beams of light strike a location. Your best chance to escape is luck and not speed. Finally, Sacred Ground both heals party members within its area of effect and damages to any enemies that enter it.
When it comes to party composition, a Censer user is, of course, useful for support. There’s room to be another damage dealer, but coming in with the heals at the right time and even debuffing enemies is going to make the party better when done effectively.
