Ember Sword will be opening up a second land sale. Back in 2021, the first time that Bright Star Studios held a land sale, everything sold out in just six hours with more than $200 million in sales.
The team announced the next sale today and will be holding it in two waves, with the first beginning on Monday, July 10th and the second part opening up at the end of the month. From July 10th through the 30th, the first wave will be available only through an application. It won't just be a transaction, since those interested in buying will have to ensure that they are going to commit to cultivating the land within the community and in essence, participating in growing Ember Sword. In the trailer announcing the land sale, at one point, the screen reads “enhance the experience for other players”.
In other words, the team is taking not just payment for ownership in the game (and support for its continued development), they want people that are actually interested in the community and making something special.
A limited number of plots will be going up for sale in the Solarwood region. In the world, each region has its own climate, culture, and even resources. The application process and the oversight is intended to find those landowners who want to cultivate the land and develop a community in their respective regions.
The second phase of the land sale will begin on July 31st, and this will be an open sale to the greater blockchain community. The plots available here will still come with an expectation of interest and the desire to support the game development, but perhaps less commitment to active participation.
The first land sale took place in May of 2021, and there has been demand for another one in the time since. Looks like the time is right once more.
