[Update: 12:40 PT - An earlier version of the story made it seem like beta registrations were now open on the Elyon website. That was not correct. We've updated the title and the story accordingly. We apologize for this error!]

[Updated story below]

Elyon (the video game formerly known as Ascent: Infinite Realm) has updated its English-language website as it preps for its upcoming Closed Beta test. For those who are interested in checking out the beta, now is your chance a registration is now open.

You'll recall Elyon is being developed by Bluehole and published by Kakao Games here in the West. Orignally starting life as the steampunk inspired Ascent: Infinite Realm, the team went quiet for a few years to retool the MMORPG. Last year the new title was unveiled and with it, seemingly a new vision for the MMO, leaning more heavily into the team's TERA roots rather than the airship-combat vibe the earlier GStar previews (like ours!) portrayed.

Last December a new site in the West opened up, but didn't really reveal much. Today, though, that has changed with the team tweeting that the site had been updated and closed beta test registrations are now being taken.

"We are truly excited to bring Elyon to Europe and North America! We have been working with the developers, Bluehole, on this project for a long time and the wait is nearly over! With the opening of the full website, we wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about who we are and what we are planning for Elyon."

The website contains information on the various classes in the world of Elyon, but also takes a minute to detail the upcoming CBT. While the exact dates aren't given, the tests will happening in the "next few months." Don't expect the full game or even a really large test, as the Elyon team cautions it will be "relatively small in scope."

"We’re currently preparing for the first Closed Beta Test (CBT1), which will give you all the chance to get your hands on the game for the first time. This will happen in the next few months and we’ll be announcing the exact dates very soon.

Although the CBT will be relatively small in scope and the build we’ll be using will be far from the final launch build, we’ll be organising some events and battles to give you a wide view of what the game has to offer."

This won't be the only closed beta Elyon runs, however, as the team will take the findings from the first test and start planning for a larger test to happen later this year. That second CBT will  focus on testing the MMO's servers and "backend processes."

If you're interested in checking on Elyon in its upcoming Closed Beta test, you can register for an account on the website, as well as check out their Discord for more information as the team releases more for the upcoming MMORPG. The team has stated in a tweet that the beta registration will be coming at a later date, so stay tuned for that information as it becomes available.
