Frontier has an update on Elite Dangerous, both the coming Update 15, and the reopening of the ability to copy your profile over from console to PC.
Update 14 released before the end of the year, and caused some issues that had to be addressed with an interim update. Update 15 was confirmed to be coming in the spring, and the team says that it still looks likely to be arriving at the end of April. That target date hasn’t moved.
There’s also still a little cleanup from Update 14 going on, as there’s a notice posted about confusion over an update on the main menu that said “Unstuck”. This option was only visible to those who have the live, 4.0 database. For those who were curious, this was added with Update 14as a safety reset option. Since Elite Dangerous split its code base, enabling those who had not moved to Odyssey for one reason or another, but still wanted story updates, Opened up the potential to get stuck in an area you couldn't get out of, in the terrain or to be unable to complete a task or pathway. This Unstuck option was added to be a quick way to get that sorted out.
Speaking of those who weren’t able to continue with all updates due to a code base switch, console players may get another shot to move their profiles over to the PC version. Frontier had initially opened a site that served as a portal for console players to transfer their profiles over to PC and continue playing that way. This was necessary, of course, since Frontier decided to cease all new development on console to focus exclusively on PC going forward.
That transfer window closed, but there has been interest in getting that option reopened, and the team is reassuring all that they’re working on it. Nothing to announce as to when or any other details, but the update is a positive one.
