Revealed today, ZeniMax Online Studios gave a first glimpse at the next DLC in its year-long Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline in The Elder Scrolls Online with Stonethorn.

The new expansion coming for PC/Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Stadia continues the story being told about the Dark Heart of Skyrim, ESO's year long storyline most recently touched on with the Greymoor chapter which released in late May. Stonethorn brings with it new dungeons such as the  Blackreach dungeon Stone Garden and dealing with the Vampire army of Lady Thorn in Castle Thorn, new items and collectibles, and more.

Also detailed was the upcoming Update 27 which will see the Elder Scrolls Online team continue their efforts to provide improvements to overall performance, as well as a new Homestead Character Pathing system.

With the addition of Character Pathing to the Housing system, you can build paths for your abode’s many residents (including pets, mounts, and assistants) to follow.  You can specify many locations (nodes) for each path, and pick their walk speed, add delays, and even decide whether they loop through to their original location, ping-pong back and forth along the path, or travel between nodes at random. With this new addition, your homes will feel more alive than ever before!

Both Stonethorn and Update 27 should be hitting the PTS on PC and Mac next week, so players who want to check it out early and provide bug reports can do so. There is no official release date for the full release on PC, console as well as its new platform, Stadia.Featured Image via ZeniMax Online Studios
