In a recent forum post, Elder Scrolls Online Community Manager, Gina Bruno, updated the community regarding proc sets following a recent Cyrodiil test.
A recent test in Cyrodiil, the PvP region of ESO, saw all proc sets disabled. Gina notes that disabling these sets did not adversely affect performance in PvP. She notes, however, that there was a “slight” degradation, but nothing measurable.
Additionally, due to the test, several players reported that by disabling these proc sets, the game felt fresh with fights being more enjoyable. Because of this feedback, the team will leave proc sets disabled until Update 31 sometime in Q3,
“At that point, we will have implemented some new code so we can have more flexibility to campaign rulesets as it applies to proc sets. We’ll work on applying all this to consoles as well, and we’ll let you know when we have a date for this starting.”
Additionally, Gina notes that they have plenty of data now to understand what the next steps should be to improve performance in Cyrodiil. She notes that the work ahead will be “complex” and will require time from the team. Given the complexity, it seems, no timetable has been provided as of yet.
