The Elder Scrolls Online team made some big announcements yesterday about the future of the game, and today, we get to go back to the beginning with the debut of the special podcast series made in partnership with Kinda Funny Games.

The first episode of the four-part podcast is available now, and hosts Greg Miller and SnowBikeMike are joined by Game Director Rich Lambert and Studio Director Matt Firor to chat about the big reveals about Seasons of the Worm Cult, as well as the role of the community, changing player expectations, and indeed going way back to some of the challenges in development for the now 11-year-old MMORPG.

The hour-long episode touches on the changes in content delivery and player expectations, including the move away from Chapters in favor of more frequent content updates  and an ability to respond to feedback faster. They discuss the reveals from yesterday, including how this season will serve as a sequel to the original game’s storyline, the new island of Solstice, and bringing back returning characters.

About halfway through, the devs  dive into the origins of building The Elder Scrolls Online, concepts and inspirations,  and the challenges and lots of changes that happened,  including the decision to have fully voiced dialogue, and lots more before the eventual release. If you enjoy behind the scenes content, you can hit play on the episode above. The next episode is scheduled to be released April 25th.
