The Elder Scrolls Online team has a lot of new things on the way, but right now, in the currently-available Seasons of the Worm Cult prologue quest, they’ve already debuted a new feature that should appeal to the RPG fans and the altaholics: Player Response Options.
The latest devblog features ZOS’ Bill Slavicsek, the project narrative director, diving into the feature. While the ESO team has specialized in giving players choices and fully voiced quests, they've also sometimes had the player character’s tone change in certain moments, but now this new feature will add choices to how you can respond to NPCs in certain quests.
You can always still use the neutral regular option, but now you can choose others like Joker, Kind, Grim, or Flirty. These new options build upon what's already there and add more choices for players. IIn 11 years, people have created a lot of characters, so now you have another way of making them more distinct from each other.
“When you got to flirt with Naryu or Darien or Jakarn, that was us testing the waters. When you got to get angry or sympathetic with Eveli Sharp-Arrow during the Orsinium main quest, that was us letting the player earn those variations from our usual neutral-voiced responses because of where we were at that point in the story,” Slavicsek says.
The feature will launch for some quests with Update 46.
