FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have launched registrations for the Closed Network Test of Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone multiplayer co-op PvE game set in the Elden Ring universe. Teased during The Game Awards last year and Scheduled for a 2025 release, the new title introduces a session-based RPG experience focused around cooperative gameplay. Currently, the Closed Network Test will be available only on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, excluding previous generation consoles and the PC for now.
In Nightreign players choose from eight unique characters, with their own special abilities they start with. They’ll explore the dynamic world of Limveld, an environment impacted by the "Night’s Tide," which eventually closes the outer portions of the map like some Battle Royale games do, pushing players and enemies to a penultimate encounter. You'll have to survive the three-day-and-night sequence facing escalating challenges that will culminate in a climactic battle against the Nightlord.
While Nightreign is a co-op game where you'll be able to team up in squads of three, savvy players can take on the encounters solo as well. Whether you win or lose, you'll be able to unlock relics, weapons, and runes as you build your character.
