Are you a content creator looking to take your recordings to the next level? If so, the Earthworks ETHOS is already a microphone that you should be considering and the value just keeps getting better. The company just announced that it has partnered with Native Instruments to bundle each new ETHOS with a copy of RX 10 Elements, a software plug-in that adds studio-grade effects to help you sound your best.

For the uninformed, the ETHOS is Earthworks’ premiere broadcast microphone and is designed to make your voice sound more natural than ever before while also adding that bit of Talk Radio warmth that we all know and love. It accomplishes through through its exceptionally fast and responsive condenser capsule. While most of the best-known broadcast mics use dynamic microphone capsules, such as the Shure SM7B and Electro-Voice RE-20, they have a more limited frequency response range. In contrast, the ETHOS is able to capture a wide frequency range with exceptional clarity.

When we reviewed it in September of last year, we were blown away by how good it sounded. The richness of its tone is matched only by its incredible build quality. It’s a pro-level microphone that has only become more accessible over time. Prices started at $699 and have now dropped to $399, putting it directly against stalwarts like the SM7B.

Well, that value just got better. Each new ETHOS will now come bundled with a copy of Native Instruments RX 10 Elements. This plug-in is a powerful tool to enhance the quality of your recordings. It comes with built-in effects that include a de-esser, de-hummer, de-clipper, a reverb remover, and a voice de-noiser. It also comes with NI’s new repair assistant tool that uses machine learning to find and correct problems in your track without any additional intervention required – unless you want to. Repair Assistant gives you the tools to customize its workflow too.

The ETHOS was already a great microphone but the addition of RX 10 Elements makes it a better value than ever. Consider: many classic broadcast mics, like the aforementioned SM7B and RE-20 usually require supporting products, like a gain booster or powerful mixer, to work their best, raising their price by $80 to $100+. The ETHOS doesn’t require any such booster, so it’s $399 price is actually what you’ll pay, and you have pro-level production tools.

It’s still not cheap, but it is a very good value for what you’re getting. Adding the ETHOS and RX 10 Elements to your workflow can give you professional results in a flash, taking your stream to the next level.
