Blizzard is ramping up previews for Dragonflight now that we have a release date of November 28th for the next World of Warcraft expansion. Today, there's a preview of the major factions in the Dragon Isles and what you'll need to know about each of them, their goals and aims, and how to earn your Renown and unlock some rewards.
There are four major factions in the Dragon Isles - the Dragonscale Expedition, Iskaara Tuskarr, Maruuk Centaur, and Valdrakken Accord.
The first, the Dragonscale Expedition, is a league founded by the union of the Alliance’s Explorer’s League and the Horde’s Reliquary. These are the information seekers and innovators. Their goals are to share an understanding and make more discoveries. Earning Renown, you'll learn how to power up Waygates that you can find throughout the Dragon Isles. In addition to getting around, earning more Renown can lead to more ways to do things like dig for treasure, as well as earn ability upgrades.
The Tuskaar are used to the winter and ice, and they are welcoming, but also great fighters if they need to defend their home and community. Earning Renown with them will let you learn some greater survival skills, like fishing (including unlocking new places to fish), and harpoon skills for big catches.
The Maruuk Centaur live in multiple clans but united as one culture based in the Ohn’ahran Plains. They’re hunters and nomads. Because of this united and more isolated culture, if you want to earn their trust, begin earning Renown and unlock the ability to prove yourself on the Grand Hunt. Segments are designed as group events for five or more players. There are 11 locations to participate and you'll get rewards for every stage. Among the things you can learn by participating are an animal companion that will help you during the Hunts, as well as battle pets and customization options.
The final faction, Valdrakken Accord, was formed by the unified dragonflights and aims to help the dragonflights to protect Azeroth. With the dragons’ return, their attention is on home, and to earn their Renown, you’ll have to run some errands. Including taking on Dragonriding races. Yep, not only will you be able to learn to ride dragons but competition awaits. If you make a name for yourself with this faction, there are other customization options, battle pets, and additional rewards.
