Things are about to get even spookier in Diablo 4 as Blizzard kicks off Meat or Treat, a Halloween celebration with plenty of ghoulish goodies for players to earn.
The event, which runs between October 29 and November 5 featured limited time cosmetic rewards that can be earned simply for logging in. New cosmetics will be available complimentary in the shop between October 29 and November 1. These include:
- The Recluse Host’s Mount (October 29)
- Ichorflame Torch Mount Trophy (October 30)
- Recluse’s Flask Mount Trophy (October 31)
- Reclusive Trappings Mount Armor (November 1)
Players who miss a cosmetic shouldn’t despair. The rewards can be retroactively claimed through November 5 at 12PM PT.
In addition to the free cosmetics, the Meat or Treat event itself will see the game’s dungeon Shrines offer a surprise effect on activation. A positive surprise may see the player showered in riches, while a negative surprise may lead to a dungeon run “going up in smoke.”
What that entails exactly isn’t clear, but I don’t know about you, I mostly avoid Shrines on higher Torment tiers, anyways. The chance of activating a Conduit Shrine may as well be a permanent Meat or Treat with how useless of an effect it is.
