The latest update for Star Trek Online brings back the winter event where you can earn some new gear and even a new star cruiser.
The winter update, Q's Winter Wonderland, is back with a series of activities to celebrate the holidays with some new loot and possibly a new ship. This year’s model you have a chance to earn? The Eisenberg Star Cruiser (tier 6) is up for the taking.
If you want to earn the Eisenberg, you'll want to spend time playing the daily events like Fastest Game on Ice, Klingon ice fishing, Tides of Ice, and more. When you complete one of these daily activities, it will fulfill the daily requirement account wide so you can choose how you want to earn your new ship across your captains. Once you complete an activity, you’ll also earn some holiday ornaments to save up and trade those in for some rewards. Both returning items and new ones alike will be available, so you can make those dailies count.
So what are some of these new items? This year's collection includes a Glacial Nanopulse Bat'leth and a ground set based on the Breen. If you’re saving your ornaments up for the Breen set items, there are four items in the set:. armor, a kit frame, pistol, and personal shield. If you equip all four of them you'll get a set bonus and a new ability, Polar Blast, which is an AOE that is as cold as expected. Also new this year are some holiday sweaters with designs celebrating the frist two seasons of the streaming animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks.
There are also vanity pets, and other fun to celebrate in the event, which runs through January 6th on all platforms. For more, see the announcement on Star Trek Online.
