If you’re looking for something new to do in World of Warcraft Dragonflight while we all wait for Fury Incarnate on September 5th, maybe the all new Kalimdor Cup dragonriding race event is the answer.
Starting today and running through August 28th, get yourself over to Valdrakken to participate. A total of 16 races to take on, and you'll be able to do so in Normal, Advanced, and even Reverse difficulties. To start, talk to Lord Andestrasz to grab the quest you’ll need.
Those 16 races are on courses all over Kalimbor, hence the cup title and inspiration. If you’re someone who loves the thrill of dragonriding races, then you’ll have a leg up in this one, especially if you’re familiar with the courses. Those event courses are:
- Ahn'Qiraj Circuit
- Nordrassil Spiral
- Ashenvale Ambit
- Razorfen Roundabout
- Great Divide Dive
- Rocketway Ride
- Desolace Drift
- Thousand Needles Thread
- Durotar Tour
- Uldum Tour
- Felwood Flyover
- Un'Goro Crater Circuit
- Feralas Ruins Ramble
- Webwinder Weave
- Hyjal Hotfoot
- Winter Wander
As you complete these races, you'll earn yourself achievements for completing anyone's that you haven't yet, and you'll also be able to earn a new event currency. That currency, Riders of Azeroth Badges, is the key to getting yourself some new rewards that range from new dragon customizations to a complete Drake Racer’s transmog set.
The dragon customizations are all new and apply to the Windborne Velocidrake, and Winding Slitherdrake. For the first dragon, you can unlock a teal scales customization. For the Winding Slitherdrake, unlock a curved nose horn option and blonde hair. If you’ve always wanted to zip around on the back of a blonde-haired dragon, now is your chance.
The Drake Racer’s transmog set is a complete set. If you want all seven pieces, you'll have to earn yourself enough Riders of Azeroth Badges for the helmet, shoulderpads, jersey, handwraps, belt, leggings, and boots. A perfect look for when you want to fly around on your big blonde haired dragon.
