EA Reverts Apex Legends Battle Pass Changes After Massive Player Pushback

EA seems to have taken the player feedback to heart, as they announced that the Premium Battle Pass in Apex Legends will once again be purchasable with in-game currency.

The Premium Battle Pass in Apex Legends had been the same for 21 seasons, but EA tried to shake things up by making the pass a bit more exclusive and claimed the changes would “evolve” the Premium Pass as we knew it. That was not how fans received the news, as paying twice for basically the same Battle Pass each month left a bad taste in their mouths.

Though on paper these changes may have added more to the Premium Pass for players to enjoy, charging double the price every month was not something everyone wanted to deal with, especially since they could no longer buy the pass with earnable in-game currency.

In a statement released by EA this afternoon, they stated

“You’ve spoken, and we’ve listened. With the release of Season 22 we will restore the ability to get the Premium Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins. We recognize that we could have handled the Battle Pass changes better – that’s on us.”After the review bombs and comments left after this change was announced, it seems that EA and Respawn Entertainment have doubled back and listened to the pleas of fans. Several players mentioned they would be uninstalling Apex Legends once these new Premium Battle Pass rules had been set in motion, so the changes were most obviously not well received by the fans.
