After receiving criticism over instability and issues with the PC version of the just released Star Wars Jedi:  Survivor,  EA has put out a statement.

In response to reports of framerate issues, instability, poor optimization, and other notable performance issues on PC, EA says that they are working on it and promise more fixes are on the way.

“We are aware that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor isn't performing to our standards for a percentage of our PC players, in particular those with high-end machines or certain specific configurations.

For example, players using cutting-edge, multi-threaded chipsets designed for Windows11 were encountering problems on Windows 10, or high-end GPUs coupled with lower-performing CPUs also saw unexpected frame loss. Rest assured, we are working to address these cases quickly.”

Since PC players have a wide variety of possible systems that the game is running on, this looks like it will require some patience. Since today is launch day, it's understandably disappointing that  enough people are having these issues that it warrants a statement from the studio of this nature, but they are working on it.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has released to greatly positive reviews, including our own, naming it a worthwhile sequel to spend your time on. Launches are notorious for the potential for issues, whether your game is primarily online or not.

Reaction to the statement wasn’t without criticism, with many claiming that EA had to know what state their PC release was in when they chose to launch it. Still, the statement does say that these issues affect “a percentage” of their player population to emphasize that it may be limited.

“We are committed to fixing these issues as soon as possible, but each patch requires significant testing to ensure we don't introduce new problems. Thanks for understanding and apologies to any of our players experiencing these issues. We will continue to monitor performance across all platforms and share update timing as soon as it is available.

The Star Wars Jedi Team”

For those affected, help is on the way. Eventually. There has already been a launch update with the game’s release, so more patches are coming to address the issues on PC.
