E3 2021 Weekend Recap: Ubisoft, Microsoft, Bethesda, Square Enix, and More

In case you missed it, E3 kicked off this weekend. Tons of games were announced. Here’s a recap of some of the highlights before E3 continues later today.

Summer Game Fest began the festivities, and you can read our round up here. Summer Game Fest showed off Tribes of Midgard, Tales of Arise, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, Elden Ring (yes), Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, and Lost Ark. Yes, that’s right. Lost Ark is headed to the west. We actually held a key giveaway, but you guys grabbed them all really damn quick.

Next up was the Ubisoft Forward event for which our roundup is here. Here, we received more details and gameplay for Rainbow 6: Extraction (which looks like GTFO), sports MMO Riders Republic, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansions and Discovery Tour, Far Cry 6, and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

Sunday brought us Xbox + Bethesda, our recap here. Here we learned about Starfield’s release date with a teaser, Sea of Thieves receiving Jack Sparrow, and Fallout 76 receiving the Steel Reign campaign on July 7 along with an announcement of The Pitt expansion in 2022.

Diablo 2 Resurrected also received a release date for September 23. Halo Infinite multiplayer saw more details with it going F2P and arriving this holiday. Elder Scrolls Online revealed the name of their final two DLCs to close out their Gates of Oblivion adventure, in addition to showing off their Console Enhanced trailer.

Additionally, Square Enix held their conference where they announced the first six Final Fantasy games receiving a pixel remaster for PC and mobile. Guardians of the Galaxy won’t see mictrotransactions, while Marvel’s Avengers provided details on their War for Wakanda expansion.

Outer Worlds 2 was announced, Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin was revealed, and EVE Online announced the EVE Academy Resource Hub. Additionally, WarTales look to be an open world turn-based strategy RPG set to release later this year. And Naraka: Bladepoint showed off its chainsaw ahead of its next beta event.
