During last week's Game Developers Conference, the Conan Exiles team was busy previewing a lot of new content heading into the game in the future. Among the things players can look forward to are a robust dye system, siege engines, necromancy, mounted combat and a settlement system that Joel Bylos likened to "a combination of something like The Sims and Civilization".

As for dungeons, players who discover secrets will be able to uncover dungeons that can contain rare resources for crafting, etc. Dungeons will feature puzzles as well as combat, including bosses.

Dyes are always important to strike the right look and the system is currently underway but preparing for a late March deployment. You'll be able to dye clothing and gear for uniforms, etc.

Later in development, Funcom will be adding mounts including the ability for mounted combat at some point. The team is committed to making sure that mount taming isn't as "tedious" as in other survival games. They're thinking along the lines of a similar mechanic to the thrall system: Knock the beast out, drag it home and slap it in a training area. Job complete!

Speaking of thralls, there is a move to give players more micromanagement capabilities including assigning beds, jobs, schedules, and even a necromancy system for summoning demons, raising fallen enemies and more.

Lastly, a new greener biome is on the way as well as nice progress being made on siege weapons. Tossing enemies never felt so good!
