Dungeons & Dragons Online’s brand new mini expansion, Vecna Unleashed, is on the way, and available for preorder today.

Vecna Unleashed is billed as the climax of the Codex of the Infinite Planes Saga, and will take you into Sharn, the Plane of Water, the Abyss, the Astral Plane, and Morgrave University. The university is where you’ll find hordes of cultists, who the Codex has corrupted and changed. The university itself houses a series of rare and powerful artifacts that could do a lot of damage in the wrong hands, so stopping what’s going on is vital. His followers want to help Vecna to pull the Eberron plane and the universe into his command.

These are some pretty big problems, and you'll have to help resolve them. The mini expansion will introduce new monsters, including Wererats and abyssal demonic Vrocks, alongside the minions of Vecna. You’ll also face down a Balor. Clearly, you’ll want to be prepared for all that will come your way. Keep track  of everything you encounter with the new Monster Manual volume 9, with 10 creatures to find, slay, and learn about.

Vecna Unleashed will also include the Machrotechnic Epic Destiny, which will boost electronic, sonic, and repair spellcasting, offer strong defense, and give some boosts that will be of particular interest to Artificers. It boosts Rune Arm use, so Artificers will get a lot out of it, but having this Epic Destiny lets non-Artificers use Rune Arms for the first time. You can also look forward to the new Vaunt Arcane Assistant 2.0 sentient jewel for your sentient weapon. It will give you all the bad news in a fun and positive tone.

Pre-orders are open now, and there are three editions to choose from. Standard will be $19.99, Collector's edition is $59.99, and the Ultimate Fan bundle will be $99.99. Standing Stone Games is offering a permanent Wererat hireling if you order the Collector’s or Ultimate editions, alongside other perks for the different editions. Some of those perks include the new Epic Destiny Tree and the Universal Action Point Tome.
