Dune: Awakening will have a gameplay world premiere next week at Gamescom. Funcom announced the gameplay reveal and the rest of their Gamescom plans, including new art, swag, and a gameplay showcase.
That gameplay video will premiere on August 20th as part of the Opening Night Live event. With Geoff Keighley hosting, you probably know what to expect. Namely, a number of new game announcements, trailer and gameplay reveals, and guests. The show is set to begin at 20:00 CEST/ 2pm ET/ 11am PT. For those not in Germany, the event will stream at that time and we can catch the reveals.
Dune: Awakening will also be part of Funcom’s Gamescom booth. You can probably find them most easily by looking out for the giant sandworm, AKA Shai-Hulud. They'll have swag to give away, activities (like trivia) to take part in, with prizes, and a 30 minute gameplay showcase at the booth. They tease a Fremkit Swag Bag in their announcement, a survival tool that could help you survive Gamescom too. Funcom is also teasing the reveal of new art during the event, which runs from August 21st through 25th.
Once again, if you're not hanging around in Germany at the show, you'll be able to catch that 30-minute gameplay demo via a number of official content creators, who will be streaming it throughout the week.
The streamers that will be showcasing the gameplay demo will do so in a number of supported languages, with the first batch of official streamers in English, French, Spanish, and German listed in the announcement. These will not be the only ones showcasing the demo, so everyone who wants to see should get a chance.
