Funcom and Level Infinite have dropped a new trailer for Dune: Awakening, unveiled at the Summer Game Fest today. It's mostly a cinematic/narrative trailer, setting the stage for the players' time on Arrakis.
This trailer treads over the original Dune's plot points in a "what-if" trailer, showing alternate universes had many of its major events never happened, as narrated by the game's version of Paul Atredes (who looks very different from either prior film depiction). But then, in true MMORPG fashion, it pivots, as the player is the key event to the world's future in Arrakis.
If you're wondering more about Dune: Awakening's progress, we've got plenty of coverage to check out, including hands-on impressions. The PC MMORPG also had a closed beta trial recently, but we still have no official release date.
