Dune: Awakening is holding a new closed beta test soon. Funcom has already begun sendiing the first invites to the next test phase of its multiplayer survival game.
The team released another short video saying that the next closed beta was coming soon and have now confirmed it is coming this month. This will be a broadening of the player test pool from the smaller closed tests the team has been holding. So if you have already applied for playtest consideration, you’re in the potential pool, or may have already been invited. The first rounds of invites for the multiplayer survival MMO have been sent, and more will be sent to those who submit their beta profiles.
This is a PC-only closed beta under NDA, so it’s one of the first expansions of testing to come. Later tests will happen, and eventually that NDA will be relaxed or dropped, but those who are looking to start building on Arrakis, collecting precious water, exploring, and avoiding rousing the sandworms, can indicate their interest. Funcom is also giving away some invites via their Discord.
Dune: Awakening has been ramping up some details and reveals on the way to this new test, with a series of brief peeks into the mechanics, why Arrakis is ideal for a survival MMO, the benefits of playing with others and of playing solo, and more. The dangers of the desert are a step closer for all. This, of course, makes extra sense with the new film coming in a few weeks.
