We have hints that Dune: Awakening will open its world soon, but for now, it seems like we’re going to just keep getting hints at what’s to come. This time, it’s in the form of a reel of “flyovers” of many of the game’s areas.
The video also list the locations as they go by. We’ve got looks of large open-world locations such as the Hagga Basin, O’odham, and the Vermillius Gap, as well as outposts like Arrakeen and the Hagga Rift.
Probably the most standout part of this video is that it’s not all just “rendered” shots, as one would call them, unless you call the game running on high settings as much.
To make the point that this is all part of what you’ll see in Dune: Awakening, the video follows quite a few stunning player perspectives—in flight, on wheel, and a few moments on foot as well. Plus, there’s one massive explosion that looks way cooler from afar than up-close.
If Funcom’s footage somehow isn’t enough and you have the money, remember that Dune: Awakening, at its launch, will be one of the first games to have Nvidia’s DLSS 4 tech on its new line of graphics cards, meaning that Dune: Awakening has been run through Nvidia’s systems so that it “predicts” upscaling graphics in a machine learning algorithm and outputs that to your display. But even if you’re one among the rest of your masses, it still looks pretty cool.
If you’re itching to see more, our own Editor-In-Chief got to get hands-on with the game last month.
