Novaquark have announced that a new PTS environment for their space-faring MMO, Dual Universe is now open.  The server, which went live yesterday, is meant to test new features and builds before they go live to the main game. All subscribers to the MMO, as well as Alpha backers have access to the PTS.

The team is cautioning potential testers against expecting a stable or polished experience as they provide feedback on patch updates coming to Dual Universe.

"It’s important to note that PTS is solely for testing purposes. We’d like to manage expectations that updates to the PTS may include feature prototypes and gameplay changes that may not ever come to the Live server. We might use the PTS to test unfinished features or prototypes, and the version of 0.24 on this server is not representative of the final state of the features. We understand that some players prefer a more stable and polished gameplay experience. Test servers aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. Updates will be unpolished. There will be no Customer Support. The server may be offline for extended periods, wiped or taken offline without advanced notice."

Right now the test server has debuted with the upcoming 0.24 build, providing players with a sneak peak at the upcoming update. The PTS server is up from today, February 23rd through March 2nd, with more tests planned - as well as the chance that Novaquark just leaves it up after the fact based on feedback and testing needs.

You can download the PTS, as well as check out the full details from the Dual Universe website.
