Blizzard’s latest Diablo 4 Campfire Chat revealed the upcoming PTR coming next week to test out 2.2.0, features before Belial’s Return launches.

Boss Powers is a feature that is central to the PTR, which will open from March 11-18th. Starting in the new season, when you defeat 24 different bosses across Sanctuary, you can claim powers from them,  offering another way to customize your build. Each power has Main and Modifier effects you can activate after equipping it to a Power Slot. The Main is what you’ll use and benefit from the most, while the Modifiers…modify it. One Main and up to three Modifier powers can be active at a time, so you'll have to find the best combination that suit your playstyle. You can preview all of the potential boss powers in the PTR announcement.

There's a new event on the way, giving us a taste of Belial’s quest for power. Apparition monsters are all over in the Apparition Incursion event. This event will pop up in a different part of Sanctuary’s wilderness every few minutes, so you'll have to see where it spawns. you can participate on any difficulty level and on any character and even potentially unlock some Boss Powers.

Endgame, or Lair, bosses, are getting an overhaul, setting them in three tiers: Initiate, Greater, and Exalted. To challenge Lair bosses, you’ll have to be in Torment I difficulty or higher. Bosses don't require a boss materials to summon,  and will spawn Hoards when they die,  along with reduced rewards. This means you’ll have to put in some work to get your spoils, instead of one member of the party paying the material costs and then others leaving. To open these chests, you'll have to spend boss materials of your own. Lair Boss Keys will unlock Hoards. On the bright side, there's no longer a cost to summon Lair bosses, so you can try any boss to see if you can beat them.

We'll also see a series of balance changes, new Unique and Legendary aspects, as well as a revised progression system, making the PTR boost NPC unavailable on the first two days of the test.
