Upcoming fantasy PvPvE extraction title Legacy: Steel & Sorcery got a new trailer and playable demo as part of week’s Steam Next Fest. The game, previously known under the code name Project Honor, is a third-person multiplayer action RPG and the new trailer wastes no time taking us right into the action.
The new trailer and the demo both show off progress that developer Notorious Games has made in alpha development since they formally unveiled their game this spring. Not only do we get right into battle, but the team shows off more of the environments, characters, and RPG elements. Then we jump right back into battle. The trailer highlights the fighting for a reason, and that's because this game is “designed from the ground up for PVP”. They've gotten feedback about adding a PVE training mode, but primarily they're focused on “fights, looting, and exploration”.
Notorious is headquartered in Irvine California, and it's likely no surprise seeing what they are building that there's a lot of folks on the team who spent plenty of time working on Blizzard's top titles, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. Yet, Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is carving out its own place, helmed by vets who are designing, in their words, “for players not powerpoint”.
The Steam Next Fest demo is available to play through October 21st, so you still have a couple of days to make it into the game. Notorious is putting the demo out now in order to get feedback from a wider audience than their current group of testers.
If you’re saying “I want to test this thing”, well, you might be in luck, since after Steam Next Fest, they plan to start accepting new playtesters who sign up via Steam. Find the demo and the signups already open on the Legacy: Steel & Sorcery Steam page.
