The new fiery and unrelenting biome is heading to Valheim today via the Ashlands update, sporting new mobs, loot, and a world never before seen within the title.
We have now made our way through the Mistlands, and it is time to venture deep within the world ablaze within the Ashalnds to discover its secrets just as we did with the previous updates. The Ashlands biome is a different entity entirely, as it “redefines” what difficult means within Valheim.
The main enemies we will encounter are skeletal entities known as the Charred, but there are other enemies that lurk around every corner that are both more powerful and more deadly than the Charred that roam the grounds. The Fallen Valkyrie is one of these foes to watch out for, as they are waiting for an unsuspecting victim to cross their path, as well as the Morgen that stalks us from the shadows just waiting to pounce.
These aren’t the only enemies we will see either, as there are starving vultures waiting to make us their next meal, and Asksvin trying to do the same thing.
With new enemies come new weapons to bring them down, of course, including the Slayer Greatsword, Splitnir Spear, and the Ripper Crossbow which can be upgraded to become even more powerful than its base form. There are now siege weapons including the Battering Ram and Catapult that can be crafted to take over fortresses scattered about the Ashlands.
