World of Warcraft is headed toward its next chapter, with update 9.2, Eternity’s End, now on the PTR. The opening of testing includes new areas, three campaign chapters, new crafting recipes, and the debut of Solo Shuffle.
For those who want a taste of the newest of the new, there are also three campaign chapters included in this December PTR update. All of these chapters and their accompanying quests are the first intro to the Eternity’s End story. Also included in this first PTR update is the new area, Zereth Mortis. After completing chapter 2 of the campaign, you’ll be able to take on new World quests in Zereth Mortis. There are also new pets to capture for battles.
The Enlightened are looking to defend Zereth Mortis and seek knowledge. New Reputation is to be earned if you find common ground with them. All of the aspects of the city, including the new Cypher of the First Ones system, rewards, combat tuning, and quests are still in development and subject to change, but a new area is the center of a fresh round of testing.
For those seeking new challenges, the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid is available, along with the newly split Tazavesh, the Veiled Market, which joins the Mythic+ rotation as two dungeons. There’s also The Jailer’s Gauntlet, a boss battle challenge featuring 8 floors per layer and 8 layers in total. There are four new challenging layers, 13-16 and the addition of Empowered Torments, for extra strength on a few layers. Along with this is the debut of Solo Shuffle, a new brawl that plays out round robin style in 3v3 teams. You can only queue for this PvP mode solo, and the short matches are designed to be challenging, varied, and welcoming.
The huge 9.2 PTR update also includes the introduction of Click Casting and Mouse over Casting. Both of these accessibility updates let you update your key bindings to be able to cast by clicking on a unit frame or to simply mouse over one, depending on your needs or preferences.
