Diablo IV is coming (as if anyone would forget that at this point). Today, Blizzard released a launch guide, unlock times, Twitch Drops details and a live action launch trailer by Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao.
Early Access will start on June 1st at 4 PM PDT for those who’ve preordered the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition on any platform. This is the time for all regions, although they've provided a convenient infographic showing unlock times in local time zones. So while it will unlock at 4:00 p.m. in California, it will already be 11:00 a.m. in New Zealand. For everyone else, unlock will be at 4 PM PDT on June 5th.
On Tuesday, May 30th, if you’ve purchased any edition of the game, you can begin preloading it at 4PM PDT. This goes for all platforms, and the launch guide tells you exactly how to access it wherever you play.
The new live action launch trailer is a minute long and shows the chaos ensuing with Lilith’s return. Various Sanctuary residents plead for help as the demons and the dread settles in.There are some actors representing the game’s player classes, to give a taste of just what responding to such a hellish emergency might look like if you had the powers of magic, shapeshifting, or were even really with a bow. Finally, Lilith looms over all as the time is running out.
Twitch Drops are coming, with the start of several weekly drops beginning at the June 5th launch. Blizzard is also opening up a new edition of the Support a Streamer program in order to also get a new mount. The weeks’ drops are separated by class, with the first week having cosmetics for Rogue and Necromancer, Sorcerer in week two, Druid in week three, and wrapping with Barbarian.
You'll have to watch eligible Diablo IV content while the weekly drop is active; three hours during that week for some items, and six hours for them all. There’s a separate announcement with all of the eligible streamers and the reward items. The Support a Streamer returns by gifting a streamer to Twitch subscriptions at any tier, and you'll get the Primal Instinct Mount as your reward.
