Diablo Immortal’s next major update, The Writhing Wilds, is coming next week on March 20th. The team revealed details about the update, including a new main quest, Battleground map, Legendary Gems, and improvements to Familiars, crafting, and Vanguard.

There’s a lot to come in this 11th major update. The Writhing Wilds main quest will take you into the Sharval Wilds, where the people of the First Forest are in trouble, with the woods starting to twist around them and the Fey, hungry nature spirits, are carrying  people off. There's a lot going on, and you'll get a chance to help the people and find the source of the danger.

Work with some of the forest guardians, druids and witches, and discover the extent of the threat. The announcement teases sinister happenings ahead, as “the citizens of Sharval will look for a savior, but you are far from their only option”. Enter the Sharval Wilds in Vanguard, with a new boss, Glade Bane, and new Helliquary bosses.

A new Battlegrounds map is coming, following community feedback. Expect changes to objectives and mechanics, as well as new challenges. We’ll get more details on what the overhaul and new maps means soon.

Three new Legendary Gems are coming, the five-star Colossus Engine, two-star Specter Glass, and one-star Faltergrasp. Colossus Engine gives you a 6-second 50% boost to skill damage when you use a buff on yourself, you also get a 4.8 second knockback immunity. Specter Glass  lets you shatter enemy armor for 2 seconds and boosts damage and crit chance. Faltergrasp disables enemy dash and reduces movement speed on crit.

The update will also include a number of improvements. Familiars are about to get improved skills, more versatility, and specific skills for each type of familiar.  New crafting changes will give you more control over your gear. You can forge Legendary items with class specific affixes.  additionally, there will be changes to Essences earned from the Loyalty bonus, including no more weekly cap for extraction and cost adjustments.

We can expect more details on the Writhing Wilds update on March 18th.
