Diablo Immortal and World of Warcraft are joining together in a new collaboration event, Shadow of The Frozen Throne.
Judging by that title, you probably have an idea of what this will look like and the content that inspires it. Starting next week on July 4th, Frostmourne, the Lich King’s legendary sword, lands in Sanctuary. The effects of this will also see undead threats coming out of frost-laden portals and add forces from another universe to contend with.
The event will run through July 26th, and it will be up to you to track down these frozen portals springing up around Sanctuary. These portals will welcome you into their frozen depths There's up inside and offer a challenge. If you step in you'll have access to a new power, Chill of the Frozen Throne, that grows more effective as you keep killing monsters. Kill five monsters and you'll get a 10% damage increase for 10 seconds and randomly raise an undead warrior that will fight for you. You can have up to five of these undead warriors helping you out, if you keep killing the oncoming hordes fast enough.
Of course, we have to talk about rewards. You didn’t think Blizzard and NetEase would mention Frostmourne as a one-off. Just for logging into Diablo Immortal during the event, you get the Icecrown Frame. Follow through and complete the event, and you get Frostmourne…well, the weapon cosmetic version.
Speaking of cosmetics, the team is offering an Icecrown Pathway Portal for you to make your portal look like it came from Icecrown Citadel. To get one, you'll have to make a real money purchase in Diablo Immortal in-game or via Battle.net through July 26th.
