With tonight’s downtime, Diablo Immortal gets closer to tomorrow’s debut of the Tempest. Unleash the power of the storm on your enemies with the all new class to the Diablo franchise, along with class story content, a new event, and much more.
After tomorrow at 3am PDT, the new update will be live in all regions. Then, you can become the storm. The new Battle Pass for Season 27, Arcane Calamity, will begin on June 6th.
There are three ways to try the Tempest, and a good place to start is the Tempest origin story quest, Relentless Tide. Learn about how some Tempests set sail to escape their homeland, under threat from storms, wind, mist, and beasts, and survive. From writer Ryan Quinn, there’s a new short story in the update details. “We Are All Guilty”, about one Tempest’s journey to survive, using her training.
Taking on this quest is open to all classes and you won’t need to use a class change to do so. This is the tale of the ancestral home of the Tempest and how they’ve gotten here.
Alternatively, and also with no class change required, take on the Tempest Trial dungeon. There are three recommended builds to use if you want to get a feel for what it is like to play a Tempest. This should give you a chance to see if this class is for you, and you can create a new character as a Tempest or use a class change (which is now available upon reaching Westmarch). Everyone will get a free class change with tomorrow's update. If you decide to change back to your original class, you can do that once a day through June 13th with no cooldown in place.
There's also a new event, the Deluged Plane, which takes the bones of the Fractured Plane event and, for two weeks, everyone will play as a Tempest. feel free to try some different builds, different combinations, and it fixes and potentially earn a Tempest cosmetic and some Legendary gear for your trouble.
Several other events also return, like Trials of the Hordes, Hungering Moon, Shady Stock, and Perils of the Fen, but this update certainly belongs to the new and shiny with all of the Tempest content on the way.
