Diablo Immortal is preparing for the Age of Unmaking, with a brand new roadmap outlining some of the highlights coming this year, including a new class (as in new to the Diablo universe new), the second anniversary, new challenges, co-op mode, and much more.
It all begins with the next major update, which is called Precipice of Horror, and brings Terror Rifts into Sanctuary. These will spawn during two periods of the day, 8am-2pm and 6pm-1am server time, in three random zones and hang around for 20 minutes. Find them and enter them if you’re ready to slay some monsters, collect Stygian Fragments they drop to sacrifice them and bring on the boss. Defeat that boss for lots of loot and a new addition, Terror Essence.
Terror Essence will allow you to take on the Oblivion Pillars, which you can find near where the rifts spawn on Inferno Difficulty I and up. In here, you'll find waves of powerful monsters. If you can survive and cut through these waves, you’ll get a chance at Eternal Equipment and more. This new item type is the rarest and strongest in the game. Terror Essence will also allow you to combine 4 normal Bounties into one Hellslayer Bounty, offering another chance at Eternal Equipment on completion.
All of this and a Deckard Cain elite quest are in the first quarter of the quarterly roadmap. And then there’s that new class on the way before we get to the second quarter. From April-June, it’s all about new and renewal, as we’re getting a new Paragon system, new equipment system, new Helliquary Bosses, and new game modes.
From July-September, expect the new co-op mode and the Worldstone Quest Part 1. Also coming in that quarter are dungeon updates and an update to Accursed Towers. Then, from October-December, part two of the Worldstone Quest is coming, along with new Helliquary bosses, and a new zone. Terror Reigns is slated for late in the year, with a potential confrontation with Diablo himself awaiting you.
Along with all of this will be new and returning events and more. The second anniversary is coming by June, and we can expect surprises there.
Clearly, Diablo Immortal is set for a pretty packed year, with new modes, features and improvements to keep things fresh.
