Diablo Immortal is starting a new Battle Pass season and responding to community feedback on a few issues, including Battleground matchmaking issues and queue dodgers. This comes with a new update that brings several improvements to the game.
The new Battle Pass, Heroes of Unification, opens Season 12 on April 13th at 3 AM server time. This one features 40 ranks of challenges, and an assortment of rewards from legendary gems, crests, and will last through May 11th. The Empowered and Collector’s Battle Pass both get some changes that let them earn seasonal Battle Archive Coins, which don’t expire and tcan be exchanged for a rotating selection of items.
The meat of this update is that series of improvements. The community has reported frequent Battleground cue cancellations, so in order to help reduce this, the first step is a new warning and a time out penalty. After a couple of repeated cancellations, a player will get a warning that if they cancel again they won't be able to participate in Battlegrounds for five minutes. This isn’t that long of a time, and this first step is a way of asking nicely before anything else, as the team promises to keep an eye on the situation and possibly consider more changes later.
Also in Battlegrounds, there are some matchmaking optimizations, which they also hope will improve with the queue dodging penalty. “We focused this update around improving match finding. With the addition of queue dodging penalties and better matchmaking, we believe that players should experience higher quality Battleground matches going forward,” the team notes.
A new limited time event is set to begin on Wednesday. The Shady Stock event will let you run daily tasks for rewards.
Other changes include removing the 7-day reset cooldown for resetting Paragon Points. Originally added as a balance measure, now you’ll be able to reset whenever you like, as their data shows it wouldn’t set things off balance. Leaving a clan will now get a few cooldowns, including for the newly added Accursed Towers in PvP mode and other challenges, for the rest of the weekly cycle until reset.
