Diablo Immortal’s next Battle Pass, “The Consumed” is coming, along with optimizations for Familiars, new bounties, and Tong-Shi’s Renewal limited event in time for Lunar New Year. There’s also a series of new modifiers that will add a twist to several returning events.

The update will be live for all global regions by Wednesday, January 31st around 2 AM PT. Since Lunar New Year is on the way, the team will not have its major content update in 2 weeks, but will release it in 3 weeks. There’s still plenty to keep everyone busy in the meantime with this week’s update.

Tong-Shi is a god of the Xian pantheon and this is a new year celebration, complete with the ability to earn some red bags and Tseym by completing several required tasks. These include dungeons, Elder Rifts, bounties, and killing elite monsters. Convert a Tseym you earn to a random reward like gold, gems, or dust. You’ll also have to defeat Jingun, Eater of Mountains, a world boss that becomes available on February 9th. The event will run through February 25th. Luckily, there are 13 new bounties to complete that you can use to earn yourself some loot.

Howler Hunt is another limited event for level 30+, where during a match, one person will become the Howler. If you become the Howler, your job is to sabotage your former companions and continue to disrupt their progress while masking your identity. It’s the Diablo Immortal version of the classic Werewolf party game (also known as Mafia). With your teammates to find out who's the enemy within and slay them or the Howler will win.

Several returning events will also start, but this time there’s a twist to keep things interesting.  Conqueror, Fractured Plane, Trial of the Hordes and Wild Brawl will each have two random modifiers from a list in effect during each match. Maybe your movement speed gets buffed, or monsters get better at sensing players. Maybe your attacks will all call chain lightning. All players in the match get the same modifiers.

Familiars get some very useful optimizations, like movement speed adjustments as appropriate depending on distance, a toggle to decide whether your Familiar will be more defensive or proactive in aggroing monsters, and more effective Familiar stones. There are also new recommendations for Familiar melding to help you through the process.

You can read about all of the changes, including the returning events, the full list of potential modifiers, and more about the upcoming season over at Diablo immortal.
