The latest update heading to Diablo II: Resurrected brings countless patches and a new Ladder Season with hardcore modes that are not for the faint of heart.
Diablo II: Resurrected Season Eight will begin in just a few weeks on August 23rd, and with the new content and season comes a few minor changes as well. The player reporting feature has been updated, making it easier to send off a report for those who may be using unfair means or exploits to get ahead. As for gameplay, Assassin’s Dragon Tail will no longer inconsistently consume charges and weapon swaps will no longer cause Skills to become unbound.
For anyone confused about what exactly a Ladder Season looks like in Diablo II: Resurrected, these seasons are limited time periods where we can enjoy new characters on a Ladder system, kind of like how seasons work in Diablo 4 for example. There are activities, quests, gear, and more that are specifically found within the new seasonal content only, which creates a level playing field for everyone. For Season eight, there will be new unique rewards to collect, balance changes, and a highly competitive environment to climb “the ladder” and become the most powerful player within the realms.
There are four different modes for Season Eight, including the pre-expansion ladder, the pre-expansion hardcore ladder, the ladder, and the hardcore ladder. Each mode comes with its own intense challenges to overcome, and the hardcore ladder is not for the weak, as not only do we only get one life but we also play through all five acts with the Lord of Destruction expansion content. Whether you’re a newcomer or a veteran, the latest season creates the perfect space for all players to blend together and take on the new bosses and dungeons until the next season begins.
