Diablo II: Resurrected is opening up Ladder Season Four this week. Update 2.7 is out today, bringing additional character slots, quality of life updates, and a series of improvements.
As Diablo IV approaches its launch in just a month, previous entries in the franchise are staying fresh in their own ways. The arrival of 2.7 brings four new character slots across all online modes. The team is trying to encourage experimenting with builds, so this adds some extra options, including when it comes to Ladder characters. With this update, “The first time a Ladder character from a previous season is used in a non-Ladder game, the ability to Reset Stat and Skill Points at Akara will be reset”. Ladder characters that have been used in non-Ladder games already won’t be eligible for that reset.
When it comes to a new Ladder, the next one will begin on Thursday, May 4th at 5 PM PDT. The new race to 99 will begin, in standard and Hardcore, as all Ladder Season 3 characters will transfer to non-Ladder groups. This is when you’ll get to use that reset if you want to. If you have any season loot in your Stash, you’ll have to save what you want before the big reset.
The update also features a number of improvements and bug fixes. One of the new quality of life changes is an expanded and improved filter for chat lobbies. This is designed to automatically remove malicious messages. Also in quality of life changes, Druids can shapeshift directly between Werewolf and Werebear forms. Other classes also get some tweaks here that should help in the new Ladder season. Next Hit Delay has been streamlined to make it easier to understand and execute.
