Game (or expansion) launches and delays. Name a more iconic duo. Diablo 4’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, was set to launch worldwide tonight at 4PM PDT, but due to a technical issue, players will need to wait just a bit longer to venture into the jungles of Nahantu.
The update, published on the official Diablo 4 forums by D4 Community Manager Adam ‘PezRadar’ Fletcher explains that players should expect a “small delay” due to a “small technical issue” on the D4 team’s end.
Players who are already logged into the game will be able to continue playing on Patch 1.5.2, but as of this writing, new logins will be locked out until the issue is resolved and the expansion has deployed worldwide.
To pour a little salt into the wound, Blizzard also announced that four items will be inaccessible when the expansion launches. These items include:
- Shroud of False Death
- Azurewrath
- Frostburn
- Aspect of the Agile Wolf
Unlike the launch, these items are not being disabled due to technical issues. Blizzard is simply looking to adjust tuning on them before releasing them into the wild.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will (hopefully) launch sometime soon tonight on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
