The Diablo franchise has been highly popular as of late, and for fans of the series, the upcoming update releases for Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal promise to deliver their own exciting, unique experiences. In a recent developer update live stream, the teams behind both games shared exciting details about Season 1 in Diablo 4, which will include additional combat and quality of life changes, and the introduction of a new class in Diablo Immortal. Here’s a quick snapshot of the new features coming to both games.

The Season of the Malignant was one of the major highlights of the stream. This season brings a host of new mechanics to the game, including Malignant Power, Malignant Affixes, and the Altar of Blood. Malignant Powers introduces new gameplay possibilities, granting players unique abilities that can be customized to suit their playstyle. There will be 32 new powers available for players to toy with. Malignant Affixes further enhance the challenge, adding unpredictable modifiers to enemies. The Altar of Blood provides a new end-game activity where players can test their skills and reap valuable rewards. Each of these new features will both make your characters more powerful, while also granting monsters a substantial power boost to test those new powers on. There will also be some new story elements for players to play through, and the developers request that players complete the story and grab the Lilith altars prior to the launch of the new season on the 20th.

Season 1 also introduces a progression system called Renown. As players explore different zones, discover hidden areas, and locate Alters of Lilith, they earn Renown points. This progress carries over from the Eternal realm to seasonal characters, offering a head start in the new season, which mean you won’t need to start new characters with every new season, those renown points will carry over from exploration and obtaining Altars of Lilith. More importantly, the unlocks, like, clearing the fog of war, will transition to all of your characters once the patch goes live. Additionally, players can unlock powerful bonuses such as extra skill points and potion charges, giving them an edge when starting fresh if players do decide to create new characters.

For Diablo Immortal players, they will get a whole new class called the Blood Knight. This class is meant to embody the grotesque, blood-shadowed archetype, focusing on weaponry and delivering a unique playstyle unlike the other current classes. The developers stressed that they carefully curated the class, making it distinct and avoiding generic vampire tropes, but if course, it would be hard not to make that comparison, just for general use purposes. With custom voiceovers and a completely new style of play the Blood Knight promises to be a great new option for Diablo Immortal players.

The developers have also taken note of several other issues, especially where Diablo 4 is concerned, and has stated that player feedback is driving a lot of the changes that they make. Stash space, combat balance, and quality of life changes were all noted as features the team plans to address. You can read the Diablo 4 patch notes, available now, over on Blizzard's official site. With ongoing plans make both games long-term projects, the Diablo franchise will continue to evolve, with the team promising captivating adventures in both games for the foreseeable future.
