Season of the Infernal Hordes kicks off in Diablo 4 on August 6th, allowing us to take on massive hordes of demons at once.
There has been a lot of chaos brewing in the hells that make up Diablo 4 after Lilith returned to Sanctuary, including the demons themselves attempting to burst into our world once again. In both Seasonal and Eternal realms on World Tier III and above, once the main questline has been completed, the Infernal Hordes wave-based feature will become available. The event can be taken on alone or with friends, but the devs also recommend fine-tuning our Infernal Offerings to make it through the rough ride ahead with demons rampaging our way.
The hordes of demons will be “densely packed” and their numbers will only grow in size within the Realm of Hatred. With limited revives the stakes are relatively high, and once those revives are spent we will be lost in the ether of Hell amongst the demons. Once the final wave has been completed, a band of corrupted Priests known as the Fell Council will appear for us to attempt to bring to their knees or be felled and have to repeat the process once more.
Burning Aether can be collected throughout the entire event and can be spent at the end of the run to get our hands on some nifty new rewards such as a Greater Affix, and a shot at legendaries and Uniques.
Infernal Offers will become available after the 60-second waves end, as long as we survive, which allows us to choose between three random boons and banes. These “temptations” will change the intensity of the hordes to spice things up and earn even better rewards for completing the waves. Infernal Offers do stack throughout the entire run, so be sure to choose carefully as becoming overwhelmed and ramping the difficulty up too high can be the difference between life and death.
