Diablo 4 Reveals Big Balance Changes, Dungeon Improvements, Inventory Changes and More Coming Next Week

Diablo 4’s Season of Blood begins next week on October 17th, and the team's latest Campfire Chat dove into everything on the way.

With a new season comes a big update, and preparing for vampire power and hunting is no different. Expect a series of new Unique items, Legendary Aspects, and Paragon Glyphs for all classes. Get the new Uniques playing on World Tier IV in the Eternal or Seasonal Realm. There are a variety of bonuses, class specific and not, granting damage reduction, cooldown help, barriers, buffs for dodging, and much more. New Legendary Aspects include one for boots that gives you 20% movement speed, broken briefly for taking damage, and other types that give extra damage that helps most through chains and stacking.

Dungeons get a number of changes and fixes. This includes more visual diversity in response to feedback that dungeons were very similar and structured in ways that meant a ton of backtracking.

Monsters all get rebalanced around the rest of the seasonal changes in the name of consistency.  They’ll also evade less. This also comes with level scaling in the open world getting adjusted to scale with player levels when encountered. There are some damage bucket updates meant to break some of the hold certain builds have and make others more viable.

Endgame is getting some love too. Legion events are a little shorter, with even more monster spawns to up the challenge. World bosses will spawn every 3.5 hours instead of 6, with better rewards on offer too.

There are a number of balance updates and tweaks to the player experience too. Inventory gets consideration on several fronts. Changes to enchanting costs are now determined by item type and the base item power. You will have to craft gems at a jeweler since they won’t drop from regular sources. This should prevent as many gems from stuffing up your inventory.

As promised, you’ll be able to search your Stash and filter it, with the ability to mark items as favorites so you can't sell or salvage them accidentally. You can also mark Stash items as junk. The team has also added autorun, some adjustments to the minimap for greater visibility, and the addition of two character slots. Mounts will move faster, be able to jump over traversals more consistently and get stuck less.

There are even some accessibility updates like additional cursor options, and audio cues that will signal when you are near a traversal like a ladder.

The whole game gets many fixes in this upcoming update, ranging from resolving bugs that made some things less playable to typos.

See the notes over at Diablo 4.
