Blizzard has released its first patch for Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn. Patch 1.4.1 updates the hit new season with a number of fixes and changes that primarily address one of the season’s major pain points: exorbitant gold costs when Masterworking items.
Masterworking costs have been reduced beginning at Rank 5. Rank 5 costs have gone down from 450,000 gold to 400,000 gold. Rank 8 costs went down from 1,000,000 to 800,000 gold. And lastly, Rank 12 costs were reduced from a whopping 10,000,000 gold to a much more bearable 2,500,000 gold. Overall, Masterworking an item to its max rank has been reduced by a total of 7,750,000 gold, which should be a huge relief for players who ended up needing to grind more trivial activities just to afford their Masteworking costs.
The rest of the update's changes mostly consisted of quality-of-life changes and bug fixes. One notable change was a buff to drop rates of Scattered Prisms from Treasure Goblins, with all the way up to a 30% chance to drop in World Tier IV. World bosses will now also always drop Scattered Prisms, as will The Butcher, if players manage to run into him.
Lastly, there was a nice surprise tucked in the patch for those who have defeated an Echo of Lilith in previous seasons. The game will retroactively grant those players a Resplendent Spark for their accomplishments.
