In a new post on the DC Universe Online site, the dev team teases out "Deluge" where the "Atlanteans Rise & Superman dies". Then, half a breath later, the same folks mention that Superman's 80th birthday is coming up and that it's something that will be celebrated in game. Let's hope he lives long enough...
Deluge will be coming in March with Mera, Queen of the Seas joins up with humanity to check out the return of Starro. Players will be returning to Central City to investigate why Starro has returned and to see for the first time the "underwater world of the Atlanteans".
Superman's 80th birthday will be in May, a celebration of his first appearance in Action Comics #1 in 1938. To celebrate the Man of Steel, the team will be retelling the epic battle and death at the hands of Doomsday. The event will kick off in April and will include new content and gifts to celebrate Superman.
