The Palia team has been reflecting on the past couple of months of updates, as well as looked at what’s happening now and in the coming months.
If you haven't been paying attention to Palia for a while, there’s a roundup of some of what you might have missed that was posted in the game's Discord today, reviewing some of the happenings from the past few months, including reveals, and some of what’s coming soon.
Back in November, the team did run a weekend play test that was intended to get some feedback and data on the game's first few hours. In December, the team wrapped their work for the year and took a holiday break, but were back in January for another small closed playtest. This one was designed to test server stability and game performance. Since this was more of a technical test than anything else, it was limited and the only players invited were a selection of previous testers.
This month, the team will bring together the orchestra and a choir to record more tracks for the game.

Overall, the Palia team has over 200 developers working on the upcoming cozy game, creating the world, cosmetic items, social features, crafting, and much more. the team is also emphasizing some of the changes, including a recent dev blog showing off all the NPCs you’ll meet on your Palia journey. The Villager blog covered romance, friendship, and how relationships will work in the game, as well as how the NPCs and villagers overall will add depth to the world. If you want to live in the world and make friends and acquaintances, go ahead. if romance strikes you, some of those options will be available alongside the main story content.
Yet, the team also emphasizes that they want the content to be there for those that want it, but to not feel like a must. “We do want the romance to feel meaningful and satisfying, but we don’t believe that close relationships need to be romantic in order to be meaningful. And neither do the citizens of Palia!”
