NetEase and Bungie officially unveiled Destiny: Rising, a new mobile Sci-Fi RPG shooter set within Bungie's Destiny iconic universe.

The free-to-play shooter features a full 3D world and is developed and published by NetEase, the same publsher for games like Marvel Rivals, Once Human and more. Destiny: Rising will explore new stories in the Destiny universe, all while trying to capture that same gunplay and progression from the mainline Destiny series, all within the palm of your hand.

Via today's press release:

"Destiny: Rising delivers a brand-new adventure set in an alternate Destiny timeline, exploring a narrative in the post-Dark Age era. Featuring a diverse roster of characters, each with unique abilities and stories, Destiny: Rising offers players dynamic and challenging single, co-op, and competitive multiplayer gameplay, including beloved game modes familiar to Destiny players, and all-new modes that introduce new ways to play Destiny."

The announcement trailer showcases some of the in-game visuals, which definitely feel like Destiny to a large degree. There's quite a bit of action going on, highlighting player skills, first-person and third-person combat, and much more. The question is how this will all feel in motion, especially on mobile devices, though controllers like Razer's Kishi V2 or the Backbone One make playing mobile games much easier nowadays.

While no release date was announced, NetEase did share that a closed-alpha test is coming next month on November 1st, and interested players can sign up now on the official website.
